Dance Recital

We had Clara's end of the year dance recital. Adam and I were both really impressed with the quality of the production and the dancing. Clara's PreK 1 class did a ballet dance to "Chapel of Love". They were the cutest little brides up there dancing. And she loved it!

Clara and her Daddy, her favorite person!

Ian stayed at home with Auntie Lanie so we could enjoy the one and a half hour long recital and actually focus on what was going on.

Summer Swimming

I mentioned previously that Ian hates swim lessons, and that was true at the time. BUT NOT ANYMORE! He seems to enjoy them, even smiles and laughs! I can't tell you how happy that makes me. I always felt a little guilty with my baby crying. Now we can all fully enjoy the whole experience.

Here Clara is supposed to be practicing her "reach and pull" arms, instead she is posing for the camera. She really loves swimming.

Clara is just chillin while Ian has his lesson.

Lanie's Senior Picture Project

My baby sister Lanie asked me to help her with the pictures for her graduation announcements. The template she picked called for 8 different pictures, so we decided to do 4 "interest" pictures and 4 of her. Here is what we came up with . . .
music

reading

singing

graduation paraphernalia

These are my favorites from the shoot of Lanie, and she has her favs-that she'll put on her announcement (I guess I'll find out which ones she used when I get it in the mail!)

Guess What I Did Today?

Soooo . . . I harvested some of my basil today. Is it silly that I am getting such a kick out of my modest, tiny container garden? Anyway, I made some gorgeous pesto that had great taste . . .

and looked pretty good too!

Moments of the last month

I finally gave in and started letting Ian feed himself.  I just had to wrap my mind around the mess.  But the benefit is that I have a little more freedom while he is eating, even if I do have an unholy mess to clean up afterward.  And he thinks it great!

Clara likes to watch and entertain Ian while he eats.

Ian's riding with Grandpa on the tractor.

This is my sister Carol and her baby minutes before they drove away.  They are moving away for a few years while her husband trains to be an air traffic controller.  They are eventually moving to the Bay Area in California, can you believe it?  We move away from there and then my sister is going to be living there!

My Little Garden

Here is my garden, we have had to move them around a little with all the rain but we are happy with how they are going.
I arranged all the pots so that they had tomatoes in the middle and herbs around the edge, I think that the basil is doing the best.  I have already made some pesto and marinara sauce with it and it's great!  What is it about cooking with what you grow?
I just spotted my first little tomatoes the other day!  It is so exciting, I can't wait 'til they are ready to pick. . .
