Updates

So I haven't really blogged much because I haven't really had much to tell.  Usually I'll have ideas for blogs kind of percolating in the back of my head, but lately. . .  nothing.  And then I was thinking hey, I got it.  Nothing super exciting, but I'll tell you what, for me, this was BIG.  Ian started sleeping through the night!!!  I almost can't wrap my mind around it, no more waking up at 3 am to stumble through the house to his room.  I can actually get 8 hours straight?  I still don't believe it!  And the bonus is that he did it on his own, I didn't have to train him (I really wasn't looking forward to that part.)  Every once in a while he still will wake up in the middle of the night, but for the most part . . . hurray!  Especially because when he is awake he is SUPER busy.  That child can crawl so fast, I can't tell you that crazy places I have found him.  And he gets into everything.  I have to vacuum everyday because everything he finds goes into his mouth!  I know that this is all normal, but you see, Clara was not like this.  So this craziness is somewhat new to me.

Also I have been adding to my homemade baby food repertoire.  I do keep some jars on hand in the pantry for emergencies.  You just never know.  Ian loves it.  And I actually think it tastes really good, too.  I've been making it and then freezing what I can in ice cube trays.  It helps cut back on cooking time.  So far so good.  He sure eats a wider variety of foods than I gave Clara at his age.  I actually feel really guilty that I didn't know better for her.  Oh well.

Several months ago I mentioned some problems we were having with Clara's dance class.  I wanted to let everyone know that all's well in our dance class universe, and has been for a while.  Thank Goodness!  I still encounter the infamous meltdowns, just not there.

Hope all is well with everyone out there!  Happy Tuesday!

Some Needed TIME OUT!

I spent this last weekend at a wonderful event called Time Out for Women.  Maybe I am the only one who feels this way but it was amazing to have a whole day for me.  No kids, or errands, or cleaning.  And the coolest part was that I really felt a kinship with so many women there.  The presenters were great.  We laughed and cried.  Heard some good music and did a little shopping.  If this comes to your area ladies, you should go.  To all of my California friends, it'll make its way to you in the fall.  Go, you'll be so happy that you did.

This video is of a singer that was a part of this event, her name is Hilary Weeks.  She did a few really funny parodies that I got to hear, one I laughed so hard I was crying.  Unfortunately, I couldn't find that one on youtube.  But this one was a good example.  I am sure some of you can relate?

Worry Dreams

Sunday night Clara woke up at about 3:30am with a "worry dream".  The next day I asked her about her worry dream.  She said she dreamed that the screen was open on our patio and Ian got out and fell in the pool!  She was very concerned about this.  She said that she and I were both watching and she had a worry look on her face and I had a worry look on my face.  Then she instructed me to always, always make sure that I shut the screen, and if she wants to play on the patio then I can shut it behind her.  I thought it was so sweet that she is worried about her little brother.  She really loves him and helps to watch out for him.  I love that girl!

Clara has taken to drawing pictures a lot like the one here.  With one normal size little girl and then cute little guy (who is Ian).  And usually they have wings on their back because they are fairies.

Wedlund Pictures

I took some pictures for my sister of her new baby Cadence.  Here are a few.
