Guess What This Is?

Okay, let me stop you right there and just tell you. That is the corner section of my newish couch. And what is that on my couch you might ask? Well, it's artwork a la Ian. And here is the crazy part, I was in the room when this was being done. Can you believe it? I really can't. I looked over and there was my little guy as happy as could be with a crayola brown marker. The good news is that it did come out. I have a hand held carpet cleaner that took about a half hour of scrubbing, but it did come out. Now all the markers and crayons are in a box up high and out of the way. Now, what is he going to get into tomorrow . . .

Every parents worst nightmare- I'm just glad that you were able to get it out! I just found out yesterday about these AMAZING markers from Crayola- they are called "Color Wonder" because the colors ONLY appear on their special paper- thus, it won't show up on walls, carpets, couches. Its about time they came up with this! http://www.crayola.com/products/splash/color_wonder/index.cfm?n_id=56

LiAnne! I've found you! How fun to see your little family and how they are growing! I am so glad your couch survived the artwork of your boy. I never had anything like that happen but Brittany did draw a pretty picture of a house, a tree, and the sunshine on the hood of our new car...with a ROCK! No quick fix for that.

Ah the places crayon/marker/pencil/pen/... ends up. My favorite is when they write their names . . . and then swear it wasn't them. I have also had the rock on car experience. Such fun being a parent! :)

At least it was your own couch and you had no one getting mad at you and Ian both. My niece did it to my couch while her mom was sitting right next to her. I calmly said "I believe your daughter isn't coloring on the paper anymore" then said I didn't even want to look at it and I'd be back in an hour to see if she got it out. It was all I could do to stay calm. When I was a kid I wrote my brother Nate's name on everything but I used pencils not pens.

Oh how I can relate. Bree hasn't gotten the couch yet, but she did the coffee table the other day along with her arms:) Amazing how fast it can happen, huh! Glad you got it out!

Oh man. These boys are such a handful. Constantly into stuff and so quick too. Best of luck... hopefully next time it isn't something permanent.
